Jeramael P. Villaber brought honors to the university when he landed 8th place in the highly competitive Certified Public Accountants Board Exams in May, 2009. Among insiders of the College of Commerce, his feat didn’t come as a big surprise. The boyish-looking Villaber graduated Magna cum laude from his BS Accountancy degree, and carried a string of achievements as a student. He won first place during the SGV Cup Level 1 Quiz Bowl in July 2007 and won first place in the SGV Regional Cup in September 2007. He also served as the executive vice-president of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) UC Chapter. He represented the university in the 10th and 11th JPIA Midyear National Conventions.

The new CPA is not only good with numbers, but also in sports. He was a varsity player of the UC Badminton Team. He won champion twice in 2005 and 2006 during the Cebu City Olympics

This year, 100% of the fresh graduates passed the board exam. UC garnered 47% over-all passing percentage, which is 18% higher than the 29% national passing percentage.

Atty. Augusto W. Go was clearly proud of this latest achievement as he congratulated the teachers of the College of Accountancy during the President’s meeting with the faculty last June 4, 2009.
