New Degree Programs Now Being Offered • University of Cebu

Starting school year 2009-2010, University of Cebu is offering a new degree in Animation in three campuses and modified the curriculum of Information Management to offer BS Information Systems. and modified the curriculum of Information Management to offer BS Information Systems. Computer Technology with specialization in Animation (ACT-Animation), which is good for two years. There are also the TESDA-accredited short-term courses in 2D and 3D Animation. Each is good for two semesters.

There is a growing demand for Animation professionals. Contrary to popular notions, animation is not confined to cartoons alone. It is also used in advertising, real estate and medicine.

Moreover, there is a particular school in New Zealand which is looking into the potential of UC’s Animation program and is currently planning on a possible partnership.

BS Information Systems (BSIS) is related to BS Information Technology (BSIT), but the former focuses more on web page development and networking with the integration of management and business concepts.

The College of Allied Engineering in UCLM will open BS Mechanical Engineering in June, 2009. For students near the vicinity and the employees from MEPZ.

Animation and B.S. Information Systems are being offered in three campuses, namely: Main , Banilad and LM. Mechanical Engineering being offered only in the Main Campus.
