Research Workshop Held • University of Cebu

The Research Capabilities Building Workshop was held in the AVR 1 of the Main Campus on June 1-5, 2009. This was one of the many Faculty In-Service Trainings for the school year 2009-2010. Different speakers who were experts in their field were invited to share their knowledge with the faculty participants. They were Dr. Elizabeth Remedio, Dr. Danilo Largo, Dr. Carmen Eturma, Dr. Fe Nolasco, Dr. Engriquieta Reston, Dr. Agapito Pino and Dr. Erlinda Alburo. Each of them tackled a particular area of research in the academe. The University of Cebu, being one of the fastest growing universities in the Philippines, aims to become a research-centered university. Hence, the faculty are encouraged to produce and publish their researches in local and international journals. Research instruction and extension are the three responsibilities of a university. According to Dr. Elizabeth Remedio, research generates knowledge. Instruction disseminates it. Extension applies it.
