UC Alumnus A TOSP 2009 Awardee • University of Cebu

Gesta graduated Cum Laude with the degree of BS Commerce, Major in Management in March 2009 at UC Banilad. He owns an enviable record as a student. Gesta was chosen as the Ambassador of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce for 2008-2010 with a fellow UC student who won as Ambassadress; won National Champion for Business Idea and Development Award together with his Commerce colleagues for UC Banilad’s “Bakasi in Jar” which was awarded by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry; was national coordinator of the 45th and 46th National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute; and Youth Ambassador for Peace World Collegiate Association for Research and Principles (WCARP). Gesta also participated in the World Bank 2009 International Essay Competition on climate change where his entry was shortlisted among the finalists. The writing contest drew a staggering 2,000 entries from students coming from 150 countries. The TOSP-CV 2009 was a collaboration of the TOSP-CV and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). It aims to promote the crucial role of the youth in the development of the nation.
