For UC-Banilad hospitality and tourism students, the classroom may soon extend beyond Cebu as they prepare to gain international work experience in Taiwan.
Under the leadership of UC-Banilad Campus Director and Vice-Chancellor for Business Development and Innovation Dean Ofelia G. Maña, together with College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) Dean Dr. Rene Ososrno, the university conducted the Taiwan Internship Program Orientation on July 20, 2026, in partnership with Dreamark International.
The orientation brought together incoming fourth-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) programs to learn about the opportunities and expectations of participating in the international internship program.
Students were briefed on the application process, internship requirements, and preparations for their training in Taiwan. The session also introduced them to the academic, cultural, and professional experiences they may gain while working in an international environment.
The orientation provided students with an opportunity to raise questions and clarify concerns about the program, helping them better understand the requirements and responsibilities involved in an overseas internship.
For the incoming fourth-year students, the program offers more than workplace exposure. It gives them an opportunity to experience a different culture, adapt to an international work environment, and apply the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout their hospitality and tourism education.
The initiative is part of UC-Banilad’s continuing efforts to expand opportunities for students to gain international exposure and prepare for careers in the global hospitality and tourism industry.
