The University of Cebu-Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) welcomed representatives from Wah Kwong Ship Management (HK) Limited, a Hong Kong-based, privately owned, integrated shipping company, on August 17, 2026, at the President’s Office to conduct cadet selection and explore potential partnership opportunities.
The delegation was composed of Mr. Yogesh Pasrija, Crewing Director, and Mr. Frank Feng, Training and Marine Manager-HSEQ.
As part of the selection process, fourteen (14) maritime cadets were interviewed, comprising eight ( 8 ) deck cadets and six (6) engine cadets. Six (6) cadets passed the selection process, three (3) deck cadets and (3) engine cadets.
They were received by UCLM officials led by Dr. Anna Liza B. Son, Campus Director; Engr. Jacklyn Descartin, Associate CAD for Maritime; Capt. Ronelio Tisoy, Dean of the College of Maritime Education; 2/O Juancho P. Tayo, Onboard Training Supervisor; Engr. Marcos Oyao, Chairperson of the College of Marine Engineering; and Capt. Rey Villamor, OIC- Chairperson of BSMT.
The visitors were also given a tour of UCLM’s maritime training facilities and laboratories.| via Angel Caritero
