Supreme Court Awards Bar Exams Historical Markers to UC, other Cebu Universities

Last Tuesday, September 13, Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo and six other SC justices were in Cebu City and awarded the historical markers to the University of Cebu-Banilad, University of San Carlos, and University of San Jose Recoletos as three of the testing sites of the digitalized and regionalized 2020/2021 Bar Examinations.

 

Present during the awarding ceremonies held at City Sports Club Cebu were Associate Justice Antonio T. Kho, Jr., Associate Justice Jose Midas P. Marquez, Associate Justice Joseph Y. Lopez, Associate Justice Rodil V. Zalameda, Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier, Senior Associate Justice and #BestBarEver 2020-2021 Chairperson Marvic Mario Victor F. Leonen, and Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo.

 

The recipient of the award, University of Cebu – Banilad, was led by the UC School of Law dean, Al-Shwaid L. Ismael, former Supreme Court Associate Justice and former Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the University of Cebu – Banilad Regino C. Hermosisima, UC Finance and Legal Affairs Director Ria Lidia G. Espina, and UC Legal Counsel  Nichol A. Ruaya. 

 

The historical markers of the three Cebu universities were the eighth, ninth, and tenth unveiled, respectively. Twenty-nine local testing sites across 22 local government units nationwide hosted the 2020/2021 Bar Examinations. A total of 8,241 of the 11,402 who took and completed the tests passed the 2020/2021 Bar Examinations, which were held on February 2 and February 4 of this year.
