MAHINAY BAGS MEDALS AT THE 21ST ASEAN UNIVERSITY GAMES 2024 IN INDONESIA

ATHLETICS | Mark Mahinay of the University of Cebu (UC) Athletics (Track and Field) got a silver and bronze medal in the Men’s 10,000 meters at the 21st ASEAN University Games in Indonesia.

Mahinay, a first-time participant in an International track event, placed second with a new personal best time of 31:51.56. He finished behind Indonesian Noveldi Petingko, who captured the gold medal in 31:01.28, while Singapore’s Chun Khai Jon Lim took the bronze with 31:56.91.
In a post by Spectrum Runners, it was a tight contest between Mahinay and Lim for the silver medal after they locked in, in the last 400 meters, but the 22-year-old Mahinay exerted all his remaining energy to speed up and beat the Singapore opponent.
