Second-year Psychology students of the University of Cebu–Banilad convened for a General Assembly on September 17, bringing together students, faculty members, and department leaders for an orientation on academics, student organization, and activities for Academic Year 2026–2027.
Held at the sixth floor of the Annex Building, the assembly was attended by Psychology Dean Dr. Feliciana C. Yap and members of the Psychology faculty. The event was organized by Psynapse, the department’s student organization, to orient students as they advance to their second year.
Psynapse President Suzainne Paquibot and Second-Year Representative Blessy Farrah Ardiente led the student-led activities, with Paquibot emphasizing the transition from the foundational subjects and experiences of first year to the demands of sophomore year.
The assembly also introduced the Psychology faculty, General Education courses, and the newly appointed Psynapse officers and Creative Team for AY 2026–2027. Students were likewise presented with their lanyards and white male uniforms as part of their progression in the program.
Key organizational matters, including the Psynapse Constitution and By-Laws and extracurricular activities, were discussed during the gathering. An open forum and question-and-answer session followed, allowing students to raise concerns and clarify matters regarding their academic and organizational participation.
The assembly provided the second-year cohort with a common platform to receive academic and organizational updates while becoming more familiar with the faculty and student leaders who will guide their activities throughout the academic year.
As they move further into the Psychology program, the sophomores begin the year with the academic foundation, experiences, and connections established during their first year.
