The University of Cebu-Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) welcomed representatives from Berge Bulk on August 26 and 27, 2026, for a two-day cadet orientation, interview, and selection process.
The orientation and written examination were held at the Maritime AVR, while the interviews were conducted at the President’s Office.
The Berge Bulk delegation was composed of Mr. Rajmohan Venkiteswaran, Head of Marine Human Resource (HR); Mr. Sergio Albayda, Senior Manager; and Mr. Jay Torres, Vessel Manager.
Representing UCLM during the visit were Dr. Anna Liza Son, Campus Director; Engr. Jacklyn Descartin, Associate-CAD for Maritime; Capt. Ronelio Tisoy, Dean of the College of Maritime Education; and 2/O Juancho Tayo, Onboard Training Supervisor.
The visit followed Berge Bulk’s March 27, 2026 engagement with UCLM, where nine Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) cadets were formally recognized after successfully completing the company’s selection process at the BW Manila Office.| via Angel Caritero
