The University of Cebu (UC) formally launched its Artificial Intelligence Innovation Laboratory today, May 28, 2025. The ceremonial launching, held at the newly completed facility at the AInnovation Lab, 9th Floor, CBE Building, University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Madaue Campus, was marked by a solemn blessing and a welcome message from its university chairman, Atty. Augusto W. Go.
“To everyone especially to the young people here, this is your laboratory, this is your future, you are all welcome in this AInnovation laboratory,” said Atty. Augusto W. Go, Chairman, University of Cebu .
“We are poised to make contributions across various fields from healthcare to environmental sustainability, to manufacturing and to education. We are deeply committed to education and training, providing opportunities for students to engage with cutting-edge Al technologies, ensuring the skills of today meet the challenges of tomorrow.” said Dean Ofelia Maña, UC Vice Chancellor for Business Development and Innovations.
The AI Innovation Laboratory is a major milestone in the university’s strategic vision to lead in the field of intelligent systems, data science, and interdisciplinary innovation. Equipped with advanced computing infrastructure, research tools, and collaborative workspaces, the lab will support both academic research and practical applications in artificial intelligence across diverse fields such as healthcare, education, engineering, and the social sciences.
