On September 2, 2026, University of Cebu Chairman Atty. Augusto W. Go welcomed Ambassador Miloš Koterec, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Philippines, during the Ambassador’s first visit to Cebu City at the University of Cebu–Banilad Campus.
Dean Ofelia G. Maña, UC Banilad Campus Director, together with the University’s deans, also met with Ambassador Koterec as they discussed possible areas of cooperation between Slovakia and the University of Cebu.
The conversation explored opportunities in education, technology, infrastructure, economic and tourism development, sports, and cultural exchange, with particular interest in avenues for academic and institutional linkages.
The dialogue highlighted the potential for greater international engagement that can provide new opportunities for students, faculty, and the wider Cebuano community.
The University of Cebu welcomes the opportunity to explore meaningful partnerships with Slovakia through education, innovation, and shared initiatives.
